The same logic applies, with more design freedom in independent homes. Villas and duplexes typically allow more options around flooring, ceilings, and layout than gated-community apartments, where many surfaces are constrained by builder defaults and society policies. The walk-through identifies what your specific home leaves movable and what is fixed.

Can the walk happen if the builder has not yet completed the snag-list fixes?

Sometimes. It depends on whether the builder allows access at this stage and on whether you have finalised the designer. Often it is useful to do the walk before submitting the snag list, because some items the designer notices may overlap with what the builder still has to fix.

What does the walk-through produce?

A one-page punch list. Each item from the checklist that needs action, with a short reason and the recommended next step (extend AC drainage, add power points behind the console wall, route an RO water line, adjust kitchen platform height, and so on).
